JF and Suzanne live on the beautiful pristine island of Mount Desert, home of Acadia National Park. Living in such a beautiful area opens the door for creativity. We both have been collecting treasures from nature and the sea for many years. Suzanne grew up in Maine and has been sea glassing and treasure hunting since a child. Jf, brought up in Pennsylvania, caught the bug soon after he and Suzanne met and together they have been gathering treasures for many years.
Their journey into crafting and jewelry making came unexpectedly when for health reasons Suzanne finished working as a teacher. She had been working on making jewelry for family and friends for several years. After a year of exploring what comes next, she timidly showed her work at a local Artisan Craft store. They liked her work and asked her to join, selling sea glass jewelry and crafts. This was 2012. The crafting community was extremely helpful, encouraging and supportive. This was the beginning to the next chapter of their lives.
Jf, who is a chemical engineer, started his creative endeavours when five of their nine children (a blended family) were in high school and realized investing in a good camera and taking senior pictures was an economic and great idea. He then started taking photos of the magnificent scenes around the island and within several years selling them in stores and local craft fairs. Jf then started working on sea glass art and wood products. The first project he created was an amazing sea glass window for his wife! He now makes and sells sea glass windows and many various wood products.
A journey that started out as a fun craft has now become our family business. Please enjoy our site and feel free to ask questions.
